Several Questions

Well, After my first post, I had several questions. So I figured I would answer them in a very condensed "history" of it all.

I was born in Alaska. Valdez, Alaska, which is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It holds worldwide records for snowfall, is home to the WESC(World Extreme Skiing Championships), and in 1989 was where the tanker Exxon, Valdez ran up on a reef creating the biggest oil spill in the world.

At this time, my dad was a fisherman, and the industry was destroyed. We are still barely being paid for what happened 21 years ago.

I am a 3rd generation fisherman, my grandpa Mike, and my dad have both been in the same fishery as me. All of my aunts and uncles grew up around the boat, as well as me and my cousins and brothers.

Since I was 8 months old I have been on the fishing boat regularly and when was 14 started being a full paid crew-man every summer. Along side of me has been my cousins and brother, Dustin Cline, Jason Cline, and Alex Lopez, who if you are following the blog should be very present. We have brought havoc on the town of Valdez, and the fishing industry nearly our entire lives.

THE BOAT: Last year during the summer I got my own boat and recently got my own permit. Because of the demand to be in this fishery the prices for permits are very high, upwards of around 100,000.00, this gives you the right to fish in this certain fishery only.

My boat was formerly named the Alba 2. Which I thought was a very lame name, and after a little help from other people who knew me, we figured that the "Conspiracy" would be perfect. This is my first year, being the complete Captain. I will be the sole captain on the boat, deciding where and when we fish, and finally making the big bucks. :)

As of lately things have really started to happen on the boat, I have found a crew member and started buying all kinds of things from generators to gages, depth sounders, and radios.

I cannot wait to get all of my close friends and relatives(Jason, Dustin, Alex L., Eric L., Debra L. Britney C, Alex H. Vance, Maritsa, and hopefully many more) down there to help me get things ready. It should be an awesome project, and hopefully the start to an amazing summer.

below are pictures and the link to my new generator which is a 27kw Perkins Diesel that costed a pretty penny:

HEY EVERYONE!

Hey, everybody, just wanted to through my most recent pictures up of the boat before I left, when we had just got done prepping it for paint. There's still a good amount to do, the spots on it are where me and Jason sanded, and put on some stuff that makes it so the steel wont rust. They will all be gone and it will be a nice black and grey.

There are a number of things that need to be done. At the top of the list, is putting in the 27kw Perkins diesel Generator in. Which has already been bought and is on it way to Valdez. It will run the RSW and all of the 110 outlets in the boat. Second, is going to be the RSW, which we believe is still good and will only be a matter of getting it hooked up and pressure tested.

Other than that, it will be things like running wires, welding, and a lot of painting. HOPE TO HAVE UPDATES SOON.
